Parashar Healing stands as a sanctuary of holistic care, rooted in empathy and science. Amber Dias talks to Ashok Munshi, the driving force behind Parashar Healing and his daughter, Anchal Munshi.
Rooted in a decades-old legacy and guided by a philosophy that places empathy and holistic healing at its core, the family-led Parashar Healing clinic combines the science of osteopathy and physiotherapy with a deep commitment to accessibility. With its blend of tradition, innovation, and genuine patient connection, Parashar Healing is redefining what it means to heal in today’s fast-paced wellness landscape.
Excerpts from the interview with Ashok Munshi…
What is your long-term vision for Parashar Healing, and how do you see the clinic evolving in the next decade?
Our long-term vision is to train and empower a new generation of doctors dedicated to accessible, affordable and holistic healthcare. We aim to significantly increase the number of skilled practitioners in our system and expand our reach, geographically and digitally, to ensure quality treatment is available to all. Our pricing, too, is intentionally kept nominal to make sure that this level of care remains within reach for everyone, regardless of their financial situation.

How do you balance the clinic’s decadesold legacy with the adoption of new technologies or treatment methods?
My focus is on honouring the clinic’s decadesold legacy by staying true to its founding principles — deep patient care, one-on-one attention, and a root-cause approach to healing — while also recognising that innovation is essential for continued growth and relevance.

We strongly believe in the science behind osteopathy and physiotherapy, and we adopt new methods only when they enhance our ability to deliver effective, personalised care. We do not prescribe medicines or promote invasive surgeries; instead, we focus on empowering the body’s natural ability to heal when given the right support.
In terms of technology, we stay up-to-date with effective physiotherapy equipment that enhances recovery. For osteopathy, it remains a very hands-on and intuitive practice, where touch, technique, and understanding the patient’s body in real-time are irreplaceable.

We also rely on technology to streamline our day-to-day operations — such as managing appointments, maintaining patient histories, and improving clinic efficiency — so our focus can stay where it matters most – with the patient.
That balance between tradition, human connection, and thoughtful innovation is what keeps our practice both grounded and forward-thinking.
When working with high-profile or celebrity clients, how do you ensure both exceptional treatment and absolute confidentiality?

At Parashar Healing, we believe that every patient, regardless of their public profile, must be treated with the same respect, care, and commitment to confidentiality. To us, all patients are equal. The trust between a doctor and a patient is sacred, and confidentiality is a fundamental part of that relationship. Whether someone is a celebrity or a private individual, we uphold the same strict standards of privacy and professionalism for everyone who walks through our doors.
That said, for high-profile or public celebrity clients, we do follow additional protocols and offer personalised scheduling to ensure their privacy, comfort and security are maintained at all times. Our focus is always on creating a safe, respectful and healing environment for everyone who seeks our treatment.
What has been the most challenging aspect of leading a healing-focused business in today’s competitive wellness market?

Standing apart in a rapidly commercialised wellness space without losing our authenticity has been one of our biggest challenges. In a market where invasive procedures and quick fixes are more commonly recognized and promoted, it can be difficult to communicate the true effectiveness of our treatments. We don’t prescribe invasive treatments or medicines — instead, we focus on deep, lasting healing through holistic, hands-on methods that support the body’s natural ability to recover.

Our services are intentionally priced affordably, as we see our work as a service to society, not just a business. However, this sometimes leads people to underestimate the value and impact of what we offer. Mass communication tools like social media ads don’t always capture the depth of our work, which is why wordof-mouth has remained our strongest and most trusted channel of awareness, reach and growth.

Our goal is to continue expanding our reach and making effective, holistic treatment accessible to as many people as possible. For us, supporting people’s health and helping them achieve a pain-free lifestyle comes first, always.
What advice would you give to someone looking to start a health and wellness business today?
Begin with clarity of purpose. Don’t chase what’s popular — focus on what genuinely heals. Build trust, invest in continuous learning, and always put patient well-being before profits. The wellness space needs sincerity more than anything.

A Young Leader Redefining Patient Experience
Excerpts from our interview with Anchal Munshi…
Tell us a little about your role at Parashar Healing.

I work at the intersection of treatments and administration. I oversee patient care strategies, manage communications, and work directly with doctors and patients. I also oversee overall operations and set processes to ensure smooth dayto-day functioning of the clinic. Additionally, I focus on expanding our reach and making this form of treatment more accessible and popular. My role is to ensure that every patient receives a personalised and compassionate treatment experience while maintaining efficient internal operations.
How does your approach to patient care differ?

As an osteopathy and physiotherapy clinic, our approach to patient care is holistic and hands-on. We don’t just look at the site of pain or discomfort, we look at the entire body to understand how different systems are connected. We focus on identifying the root cause of the issue, rather than just treating symptoms.Through gentle manual techniques, we work to restore alignment, improve circulation, and also support the body’s natural ability to heal itself. We also spend time educating patients about posture, movement and lifestyle so they can take an active role in their recovery. Our approach is grounded in empathy and active listening, which often helps patients open up in ways that accelerate their treatment. For us, patient care is about the complete well-being of an individual, rather than simply treating the condition.

Are there particular conditions, patient groups, or techniques you are especially passionate about treating?
We are dedicated to treating patients suffering from any pain-related ailments. Common problems among our patients include sciatica, slipped disc, knee pain, spondylosis, vertigo, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, and really everything in between. Our passion is helping patients find relief and improved quality of life, no matter where their pain or discomfort originates.
We use osteopathy and physiotherapy techniques tailored to each individual’s needs to relieve them of that pain and discomfort, and restore normal movement and function.

As part of a family-led clinic, how do you balance professional duties with personal relationships in the workplace?
It’s not always easy, but we’ve learnt to compartmentalise when needed. Clear communication and mutual respect help us maintain professionalism while nurturing the deep trust that only comes from family. We lean on each other’s strengths.
Talk to us about some of the unique challenges that you have faced and how you’ve tackled or continue to tackle them.

As a young woman managing an osteopathy and physiotherapy clinic, one of the unique challenges I’ve faced is bringing my new-age thinking and fresh perspective to a field deeply rooted in traditional practices. A simple example is introducing an appointment-based system instead of the traditional first-come, first-served approach to improve patient experience and clinic efficiency. Another is emphasising the importance of building digital content for our patients that can be shared via Instagram and WhatsApp, including patient testimonials to create greater awareness and trust. Balancing these small but important changes while respecting the clinic’s legacy requires patience and clear communication. It helps us stay true to our roots while evolving to meet today’s patient needs. It’s an ongoing process that I’m passionate about continuing.
