Explore Poonam Soni’s Designer Atelier

Celebrating 36 years of design, Poonam Soni’s Mumbai flagship is more than a store; it’s a space where every detail reflects the soul of our jewels and the stories they tell.

When it comes to fusing fine jewellery with the sensibilities of art and architecture, few names carry the legacy and innovation of Poonam Soni. Since its inception in 1989, the brand has carved a distinct niche in India’s luxury landscape, redefining how jewellery is perceived, presented, and cherished.

Exquisite Creations

In June this year, the brand marked an impressive 36-year journey, one punctuated by pioneering milestones. Poonam Soni was among the first brands in the Indian jewellery industry to introduce the idea of curated collections inspired by global art movements and ancient architecture. From the regal flair of the Greek and Egyptian collections to the whimsical curves of Gaudi Revived and the classic restraint of Monochromes, each line has been a testament to the brand’s commitment to storytelling through design.

The brand has also worked with contemporary artists like Laxman Shrestha and Nawaz Modi Singhania, transforming hand-painted canvases into wearable art. These weren’t just ornaments, they were collector’s pieces; attracting a discerning clientele who sought more than just sparkle.

A Space Apart

Enter the brand’s flagship store on Linking Road, Santacruz, Mumbai; it’s more of an experience than a boutique. Sprawled across 2,000 square feet, the atelier is a sanctuary of style, comfort, and craftsmanship. Conceptualised and designed by Poonam Soni alongside her daughter Kriti, the space draws heavily from Mediterranean influences. Think natural stone floors underfoot, arched ceilings soaring above, and a palette of calming whites and off-whites that let the jewels shine.

The entrance is a towering, eleven-foot, wood-carved doorway reminiscent of a Tuscan villa, painstakingly crafted over six months. Step inside, and you’re greeted by a vivid, multi￾coloured art collage by Trishla Jari, an explosion of colour that sets the tone for the brand’s dimensional, vibrant jewellery.

Throughout the store, heritage meets modernity in surprising ways. A vintage sage-green hand-painted cupboard, a gleaming silver-foiled centre table, rustic wood meeting rooms with trellised ceilings, and chairs hand-painted by Rajat Kantidhar, all converge to create an immersive, textured retail experience.

Each corner tells a story. One half of the atelier reflects the brand’s classic identity with pristine white furniture, Italian silks, and softly lit display cabinets that house heirloom-worthy pieces. The other half bursts with life, colourful paintings, bold design elements, and statement jewels that embody Poonam Soni’s fusion philosophy.

Not So Ordinary

This harmonious blend of design, detail, and drama is not just a reflection of the jewels but also of the clientele. The Poonam Soni woman is a collector, a connoisseur, someone who values heritage and individuality in equal measure. As the brand celebrates 36 years, its flagship store stands as more than just a retail space; it is a living, breathing gallery of legacy, creativity, and timeless elegance
