Renowned architects Hafeez Contractor, ABM Architects, Sunil Gambani, and ZZ Architects have come together to shape Nahar’s Amrit Shakti — a township that embodies modern living while providing a holistic lifestyle for its residents.
Founded in 1973, the Nahar Group is a prominent name in the real estate industry, recognised for its commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainable development. Headquartered in Mumbai, the group has carved a niche for itself by delivering over 15 million square feet of thoughtfully designed residential, commercial, and industrial spaces.
One of its flagship developments is the expansive Nahar’s Amrit Shakti, a self-contained township in Chandivali, Mumbai, which epitomises modern urban living. Spanning 125 acres, this township integrates residential complexes with schools, healthcare centres, retail spaces, and lush green landscapes, offering a holistic lifestyle to its residents.
Nahar’s Amrit Shakti Town Planning
Nahar’s Amrit Shakti, designed by renowned architect Hafeez Contractor, is a meticulously planned township in Chandivali, Mumbai. The township project features world-class amenities supported by class-apart infrastructure like Nahar Medical and Diagnostic Center, Nahar International School affiliated to Cambridge Board, Bees & Cubs, a state-of-the-art pre-school and day-care, Nahar Business Center, Super Market, Shopping Avenue, Jain Temple, and more. The master plan adopts a hierarchical zoning approach, with designated areas for highrise residential towers, commercial establishments, and lush open spaces. Strategically placed roads and pathways ensure seamless connectivity, prioritising pedestrian movement while minimising vehicular interference in residential zones. The residential towers, characterised by their clean vertical lines and contemporary façades, are designed to maximise natural light and ventilation while ensuring privacy. Large windows and balconies offer panoramic views of landscaped gardens and the surrounding cityscape, while the use of modern materials such as glass and concrete enhances the towers’ sleek aesthetic.

“Green and open spaces are central to the township’s design, creating an urban oasis amidst Mumbai’s bustling environment. Landscaped gardens, tree-lined walkways, and serene water features promote wellness and relaxation, while community spaces like playgrounds, yoga decks, and sports courts cater to residents of all ages. Pocket parks further enhance the sense of community and social interaction. The township also integrates essential infrastructure, including retail outlets, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities, making it a self-contained ecosystem. Its strategic location ensures excellent connectivity to key areas like Powai, Andheri, and Mumbai’s International Airport,” explains Ar Hafeez Contractor.
Nahar International School
Nahar International School has grown into an architectural and educational marvel, celebrating 10 years of innovation in learning spaces. Starting with 99 students, the institution now accommodates over 1,200 learners, reflecting its commitment to creating a study-centric environment that nurtures academic prowess, emotional intelligence, and global awareness.

The school’s design philosophy mirrors its educational vision, incorporating spaces that inspire critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. The introduction of IGCSE and IBDP programmes is supported by infrastructure designed to meet global academic standards. Flexible, multifunctional classrooms are equipped with cutting-edge technology and interactive features, enabling seamless learning experiences. Collaborative zones, spacious libraries, and creative hubs emphasise inquiry-based learning while fostering leadership and teamwork.

Bees & Cubs Pre-School & Day-Care
The Bees & Cubs Pre-School and Day-Care is a unique extension of Nahar’s established educational offerings. Designed by Ar Sunil Gambani, the design plays a pivotal role in shaping the spatial, social, material, and environmental experiences of children. The Bees & Cubs Pre-School and Day-Care exemplifies this by integrating the concept of play as a mode of learning throughout its design.

“The materials chosen for the school prioritise safety, acoustics, and aesthetics. With classrooms, libraries, play areas, and cafeterias requiring acoustic segregation, the design incorporates vinyl flooring, carpeted spaces, and acoustic pinboards and panels. Feature panels and sculptures also utilise acoustic materials, enhancing sound absorption throughout the building. The aesthetic focus includes vibrant, textured finishes, with an emphasis on artworks, wallpapers, and films to create engaging spaces for children,” says Ar Sunil Gambani.
Club House & School Within Nahar’s Amrit Shakti

ZZ Architects designed the Nahar’s Nectarfield Club House as a contemporary communal hub that fosters social interaction and strengthens the sense of community among residents. Its architectural style is a harmonious blend of modern design elements and natural surroundings, emphasising openness, abundant natural light, and functionality. The project was significantly shaped by the personal involvement of Sukhraj Nahar, whose passion and attention to detail ensured that the Club House became a functional amenity and the emotional heart of the community. His dedication to creating an inclusive and dynamic space elevated the design to a new standard, making it a seamless and integral component of the overall master plan.“Balancing luxury, comfort, and practicality was central to the design approach. The use of a refined material palette, coupled with thoughtful spatial planning and meticulous detailing, ensured a space that is both elegant and functional. Key features like the central courtyard, extensive natural light, and effective ventilation enhance the overall user experience. The inclusion of diverse amenities such as fitness zones, yoga spaces, recreational facilities, and F&B outlets caters to a wide range of needs, making the Club House an inviting and practical space for all residents,” explains Zubin Zainuddin.

The school within the Nahar’s Amrit Shakti community is another cornerstone of the development, designed to provide a stimulating and safe learning environment that aligns with the larger master plan. Accessibility, integration with the community, and fostering holistic education were primary design considerations. Manju Yagnik’s insightful understanding of educational spaces played a pivotal role in shaping the project. Her commitment to excellence and passion for creating enriching learning environments are evident in every aspect of the design.
