Sania Mirza Bids Farewell To Tennis

Tennis great Sania Mirza brought the curtains down on her career with a defeat in the first round match at the WTA Dubai Duty Free Championship.

The 36-year-old Sania, turned pro in 2003, and won six Grand Slam titles to her name, including three women’s doubles with Swiss legend Martina Hingis.

On Tuesday, Sania along with American partner Madison Keys, faced a straight-set defeat at the hands of Veronika Kudermetova and Liudmila Samsonova. Sania and Keys lost 4-6, 0-6 to the formidable Russian pair in exactly one hour.
