Winter at Tantora

Your invitation to AlUla’s most enchanting weeks of the year

As the winter glow takes over the sandstone canyons, AlUla transforms into a cultural playground with the return of its iconic Winter at Tantora festival. Named after the traditional sundial that once marked the start of the planting season, this celebration honours timeless heritage while embracing contemporary artistry, gastronomy, and music. Across several weeks, you are invited to deepen your connection with Saudi Arabia’s ancient jewel through sensory discoveries and curated experiences unlike anywhere else.

What can you expect in AlUla? Well…

Old Town Nights creates an enchanting welcome, with music, artisanal food stalls and lantern-lit alleyways setting the tone for the experience. Don’t miss a breathtaking immersion into history on a Hegra UNESCO World Heritage tour led by a Rawi storyteller who brings the Nabataean era vividly to life. The journey continues through Dadan and Jabal Ikmah, where ancient inscriptions and archaeological wonders deepen the sense of discovery. As evening falls, festival highlights such as Midday at Tantora or the Old Town Culinary Voyage offer immersive cultural encounters.

A morning stroll along the Old Town Wall Art Walk unveils new murals and community narratives, before the festivities pick up with Shorfat Tantora or the lively Almanshiyah Carnival. The journey builds to a spectacular finale: A marquee concert at Maraya or another headline performance beneath the desert sky.

In every moment, Winter at Tantora is more than a festival — it is AlUla at its most magical.
