PM Narendra Modi mourns the death of his mother, Heeraben, who passed away on Friday at age 99.
He said about his mother in a tribute, “A glorious century rests at the feet of God… In Maa, I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values.”
In the past, the PM has spoken about how his mother lived a difficult childhood and life, doing menial jobs to make ends meet for their family. But, regardless of the financial situation in the house, she was particular about certain standards and cleanliness.
