Feminists Rejoiced When BBCI Declared Equal Match Fees For Men & Women Cricketers!!

Going forward, women will be given the same match fees as their male counterparts in international matches.

The historic decision was taken in the 15th BCCI Apex Council meeting at which the members unanimously agreed to the resolution.

“This is a historic decision for women’s cricket in India! We are ushering in a new era for women’s cricket in India. Thank you Jay Shah Sir and the BCCI for making this happen. Really happy today,” said Mithali Raj, former captain of the national women’s cricket team on Twitter.

With this policy, India’s women cricketers will earn INR 15 lakh for a Test, 6 lakh for an ODI and 3 lakh for a T20 match; the same as the male cricketers.

Though this decision was ratified a few days ago, we still can’t stop beaming…
