Grit and passion have been your companions in your six-decade career. What is it that still keeps you going?
I have never said no to opportunities that come my way. If it is something I do not know, I focus on learning it. I was very fortunate to always have wonderful opportunities in life. Once I commit, I work very hard and give my 100% to completing the work. That’s what keeps me going.

Any lessons learnt from a failure in your career? How has that helped you move forward?
I have never really had any failures, but I believe that even if we have to face failures, we should not be disappointed. We just need to emerge from the situation with no regrets. I have complete faith in what I do, which helps me move forward.

Name the qualities that define you as a leader.
My dedication and devotion to anything I do is what, I believe, helps me affect lives around me. The sincerity and commitment with which I work on anything I take up, helps me have an influence and a long-lasting impression on people.

We know you have strong roots. Please share some nuggets on the support system which has helped you power through.
My strong roots are due to values instilled in me by my mother. She was my “go-to” person always. I have a good support system in place which again began with my mother, then my family and Dharamji.

What advice would you give a young woman who wants to follow a similar path?
My advice is: Never give up! If you don’t make it, try again and keep trying till you get what you want. It is difficult to get the opportunities you desire, but once you have the opportunity in hand, shine the brightest and dedicate yourself to the job at hand.
Work very sincerely.
