It takes grit and passion to get where you are today. What is it that set you off on this journey? And what keeps you going?
The Gravittus Foundation has been set up with the objective of working towards the sustained emancipation of women and children through continued development, improved education and employability training. When I see the change and impact my initiatives have brought about, I am motivated to do more to help people. Generating awareness on myriad social issues and bringing about a positive change in the lives of those around me are some things I will never tire of.
What is one quality you believe defines you as a leader or influencer?
Keep learning, even in the face of challenges. I always look at challenges as a learning curve. I try to see what I can learn from this situation and how I can better myself from that lesson.
How do you use your influence as a leader to empower other women?
The Gravittus Foundation is committed to working relentlessly for the cause of women from all stratas of society, across rural and urban areas, so that they can enjoy their constitutional and legal entitlements, as well as discover opportunities to grow. Undoing gender disparity is something I believe that those with power must take responsibility for. Power and freedom bring huge responsibility. Responsibility to follow commitments creates benchmarks, provides quality services and works towards the welfare of society.
What advice would you give a young woman who wants to follow a similar path?
Always follow your heart and its truest calling. If you have more on your plate than you can finish, don’t hesitate to share your portion with others, it will only come back to you tenfold.
