Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Meta, has lost almost 119 million followers, bringing his total to less than 10,000.
Several of Meta’s Facebook users have complained about losing the majority of their followers on the social media network for unknown reasons.
“Facebook created a tsunami that wiped away my almost 900,000 followers and left only 9,000 something on the shore. I kind of like Facebook’s comedy,” exiled #Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen shared on Twitter.
A Meta spokesperson was quoted as saying, “We’re aware that some people are seeing inconsistent follower count on their Facebook profiles. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
Beyond this, Meta announced the Quest Pro, a virtual and mixed reality headgear designed to help the company enter into the higher-end market for extended reality computing devices. The device was unveiled at the company’s annual Meta Connect conference.
According to Meta, customers in the United States will be able to purchase the device on October 25 for $1,500 (approximately Rs. 1,23,400).
Meta stated that the recently revealed Meta Quest Pro, in addition to the social and gaming-oriented features that its Quest devices are known for, can also be used as a productivity tablet. Meta hopes that creative people like designers and architects will use the device.
At Meta Connect, Meta also revealed virtual versions of Word, Outlook, and Teams, Microsoft programmes that are often used by professionals on PCs or smartphones.
