Tennis Legend Martina Navratilova On Fighting Cancer

The 18-time Grand Slam singles champion has been diagnosed with breast and throat cancer. Both cancers have been caught at an early stage.

“The double whammy is serious, but fixable, and I’m hoping for a favourable outcome. It’s going to stink for a while, but I’ll fight with all I have got,” the legendary Martina told the press.

This has not been her first diagnosis. Martina battled breast cancer back in 2010. She said she had felt “helpless” after she was diagnosed, but decided to go public with the news to help other women suffering similar health problems.

More power to her, she has always been a trailblazer and helped generations of women accept and embrace themselves.
