Dearest Reader,
You’re standing at the start of your journey, ambitious, hopeful, and perhaps a little unsure of what lies ahead. I know that feeling well. When you are beginning, the world can seem both exciting and intimidating at the same time. There are dreams you want to chase, but also questions that quietly sit in the back of your mind: Am I ready? Will I be able to do this?
Let me reassure you — uncertainty is not a weakness. It is the beginning of growth.
The early stage of any journey is messy, confusing, and full of questions. You will try things that don’t work, you will face rejections, and you will also occasionally feel like everyone else has a clearer plan than you do. They don’t!!! Most people are figuring it out as they go along.
One thing I learnt early is that vision matters. If you can see possibilities where others see limitations, you are already ahead. In our industry, whether it was building iconic brands or expanding manufacturing across India, the goal was never just to participate. It was to create, to innovate, and to think bigger than what seemed possible at the time.

What matters more than what people realise is persistence. The kind that shows up when things are slow, when recognition hasn’t arrived yet, and when the only person who believes in your vision is YOU. It’s the persistence that is the quiet strength that keeps you moving forward. The most successful people are not the ones who never fail — they are the ones who refuse to stop trying.
You will also encounter a lot of noise. People’s opinions, expectations, how you should be, how you should look at things the way they do, by when you should be achieving success etc – they come from everywhere. Some will be well-meaning, others won’t. Listen respectfully, but learn to trust your own judgment. The world will often try to define your limits for you. Don’t let it.
What you must protect at all costs is your integrity and your passion. The values you carry will guide your decisions long after the excitement of early success fades. In leadership, people remember how you made them feel — whether you empowered them, inspired them, and treated them with fairness and respect.
Over time, many things will change. Your confidence will grow and your perspective will widen. The challenges you once feared will become experiences that strengthen you.
You will realise that the failures you feared were actually some of your greatest teachers. Someone might look at you and say, “You make it look so easy.” And you’ll smile politely. You probably won’t mention the sleepless nights, the mistakes, the rejections or the moments you nearly gave up.
But some things should never change — your curiosity, your willingness to learn, and your belief that you can build something that matters. There is something powerful about women supporting women, sharing experiences, and lifting each other forward. Each generation opens doors for the next, and I hope that as you grow in your own career, you will do the same.
Your journey will not be perfect, and it will certainly not be predictable. But if you stay committed to your vision, work hard, and lead with integrity, you will create opportunities not only for yourself but for many others along the way.
So step forward with courage. Dream bigger than what feels comfortable today.
And if you remember nothing else from this letter, please remember this: You don’t need permission to become everything you are capable of. Trust yourself.
With Belief in You…
Warm Regards,
