Virat Kohli – Man of the Moment!

On September 8, 2022, Virat Kohli, one of India’s greatest batsmen and former captain of the Indian cricket team, ended his century drought at the Asia Cup match against Afghanistan in Dubai after nearly 3 years.

Twitter exploded and Indians heaved a sigh of relief as Kohli appeared to be back in form and ready for the upcoming World Cup to be held in Australia in October this year.

The last time Kohli hit an international century was in November 2019 against Bangladesh during the pink-ball Test in Kolkata.
This century marks the star player’s first 100 in the T20s. It also happens to be the highest individual score in T20 history for India. He scored a whopping 122 in just 61 balls with a strike rate of 200!

He is now the fastest cricketer to have completed 71 centuries in international cricket in terms of innings, and now shares the 71 mark with former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting. Only the great Sachin Tendulkar has scored more centuries than Kohli and Ponting.

Kohli dedicated this win to his wife Anushka Sharma, who, he says, helped him through his tough patch in his cricket career.
